Sarah Stage is a performer, consultant, and educator based in Rochester, NY. Originally from Central Texas, Sarah is a graduate of the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music in Berea, Ohio. She is a classically trained soprano who enjoys singing a variety of genres including opera, art song, jazz/standards, and musical theatre.
She has studied with vocal powerhouses including MaryBeth Smith of Houston, TX, JR Fralick and Timothy Mussard of the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music, and Katherine Ciesinski of the Eastman School of Music. She has also performed and studied culture, language, and music abroad in Portsmouth, England, and Rome, Italy. Masterclasses and workshops also contributed greatly to her education and gave her the opportunity to sing for and learn from Lucy Arner, Jennifer Rowley, Lise Lindstrom, and Martin Katz.
Performances with companies such as Operafestival di Roma, the Rome Festival, Cleveland Opera, and Opera Circle Cleveland include Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Lady Billows in Albert Herring, and Rose Alvarez in Bye Bye Birdie, as well as productions of Le Nozze di Figaro, Suor Angelica, Hänsel und Gretel, The Coffee Cantata, and Turandot.
She has also performed with the Rochester Oratorio Society, the Temple Sinai Choir, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Community Chorus, Focus Festival Chorus, BW Bach Festival and Motet Choirs, and Jazztet. Sarah also enjoys performing for weddings and events, and formerly served as the staff soloist for the First Church of Christian Science, Berea. Sarah is also passionate about performing arts marketing and provides marketing consulting services to several Rochester-area arts organizations.
